DSW seeks to recruit a

Senior Officer, Project Management (m/w/d)

based in Berlin, Germany or Brussels, Belgium.

The Senior Officer, Project Management supports the Head of Advocacy with the implementation, monitoring, and reporting of advocacy projects. She/he will ensure that advocacy activities of different implementing teams are planned, budgeted and implemented in a coordinated fashion in Germany, Brussels and East Africa. In addition, he/she will be responsible for ensuring compliance with donor requirements and result expectation. The Senior Project Officer must have a results-oriented but also strategic mindset, and apply specialised project-management knowledge to the specific context of health-related advocacy across geographies. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate individual to make a real difference in global health advocacy.

Areas of responsibility:

  • Ensure the high-quality delivery of expected project results and outputs according to project framework including compliance with project standard processes and guidelines.
  • Ensure timely submission of reports and updates as well as overall controlling of project budget, incl. through coordination of financial reporting
  • Act as a main interlocutor on project coordination to donors and key implementing partners
  • Support the Head of Advocacy and the Executive Director in strategic decisions regarding the execution of the advocacy project
  • Support the resource mobilization efforts for DSW’s advocacy
  • Supervise two staff in a regional function based in East Africa
  • Work closely with team leaders in different offices to coordinate activities, update work plans and organize regular planning meetings
  • Together with DSW’s M&E team, ensure solid results-tracking

Your profile:

  • Masters degree in a relevant topic area (such as political science, international relations etc.)
  • At least 5 years relevant work experience, incl in an international context
  • Fluent written and spoken English as well as fluent written and spoken German
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate a team on a complex project
  • Good knowledge of development cooperation and Global health discussions, especially Sexual and reproductive health; knowledge of advocacy methods and approaches in different national contexts
  • Strong, persuasive oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in an international/intercultural working environment
  • Willingness to travel within the EU and to Africa.
